Top menu overview Register [tab]

The top menu is used to manage several areas of the cash register application. Here you can execute reports, configure settings for PLU’s, network terminals, allocate external devices etc.

The register tab is used for registration of items including refund, also you can set the start of the business day, including setting up coin change for the cash draw (float) and also view the electronic journal which keeps a log of all registration operations performed

Registration is used to register normal sales. The main display consists of several areas, and they are;

Registration Screen
  1. Item registration – used for display numeric entries, registration, subtotal amount, etc.
  2. Item/ function area – used for display PLU’s, Department search keys and function keys
  3. Function key area – used for displaying function keys e.g. CASH, RECEIPT, NEW/OLD CHK function keys
  4. Title bar – used to display the current mode, signed on clerk, date/time, receipt on/off status etc.

TenKey pad – this is used to display the numeric keypad, including additional function keys

The layout of the item/function key area is split into several pages.

The pages or departments are accessed using the page selection buttons

The page selection buttons can be used to display items in several different ways;

  • Manual layout – This enables to allocate buttons manually in any position and assign items and functions to the buttons.
  • Automatic layout – By assigning a department to a page button, the system searches the corresponding items of the department and lists them on the page as buttons.

There are several page buttons and they can be accessed by scrolling from left to right etc.

Clerk sign on/off

There are several ways for a clerk to sign on and they are;

By default, the clerk button is already allocated to the keyboard however; you can allocate more clerk buttons to the keyboard.

Method 1

Enter the clerk secret number and press the clerk button.

The clerk is now signed on and will be shown on the top of the screen as detailed in the image below.

Press the cancel button

This will display the ‘Clerk Window’. Touch the clerk icon to sign on

When the mode button is pressed, you can access the ‘Top Menu’, the ‘Top Menu’ allow you to manage several areas of the cash register application. Here you can execute reports, configure settings for PLU’s, network terminals, allocate external devices etc.

In the ‘Top Menu’ only the allowable top menu icons of the signed on clerk will be displayed, it is also possible to allow/not allow clerks to use the mode button.

Function lists

Function lists are used for displaying additional functions that may have not been able to be allocated to the keyboard or to add short cuts and also quick operations.

For example, sell an item and in the item registration area, touch the item registered and a function list will appear. This function list allows you to use functions to interact with individually selected items.

Touch the ‘Table no.’ display area above the item registration area. This function list allows you to use functions to interact with all items e.g. subtotal discount.

Once an item has been registered, the quantity of an already registered item can be changed.

Touch the quantity of an item. A TenKey pad is displayed, enter the quantity and press OK

Refund Mode Animation

Refund an item

Use the touch screen and scroll to the FUNCTIONS BUTTON. Select functions and you will see the functions screen shown in the image below. Select refund.

Selecting refund will take you back to the registration screen but the top bar will flash red to white indicating you are in refund mode.

Find the item that is to be refunded and select it and then touch the cash or eftpos button to refund the amount.

Refund mode is used when a customer requests to return goods. The register subtracts the refunded amount automatically from the Indrawer totals however, stock is not affected.

Selecting refund will take you back to the registration screen but the top bar will flash red to white indicating you are in refund mode.

Find the item that is to be refunded and select it and then touch the cash or eftpos button to refund the amount.
